Dizzy's Ten Post Round-Up

Never one to do anything half-way, I am preparing to work for the next three days and still feeling like Mother Nature does not like me very much. But, the show must go on, as they say.

It kind of reminds me of what my grandmother used to tell me when I was young, "If you are going to do something, don't be half-assed about it." When I was 16, she told me that whatever I did, be the best, whether that was a business person or a hooker (yes, she really said that).

Whenever I think about those words, these days, I think that Bush must have had someone close to him give him the same advice and he obviously took it to heart. Unfortunately, I don't think that person meant for him to be a colossal @#!$% failure, but, you get the idea.

Jamming out on my cd player, yesterday, I came across this song that kind of reminds me to not take life, lightly. If I'm going to do something, it should be worthwhile, it should bring out the best in me. I actually don't know any other way to be and I know a lot of my favorite people, including my favorite bloggers, won't settle for less in themselves, either. So, this bit of youtubery is dedicated to you: Natasha Bedingfield - If You're Gonna Jump (Paul Oakenfold)

Unfortunately, the rest of the world seems to have lost its ever-lovin', cotton-pickin' mind in today's Ten Post Round-Up:

1: Looks like Harry Reid is acting like he's Bush's new BFF...

10: Another episode of "It's good t'be the king"...

I am feeling much better, but could still stand a couple more days in recovery. I have lots of people counting on me and my job is about much more than money (I can hire someone else to fill in for me). I really do love what I do.

Be the best that you can be and make it a great day while you're at it!

Peace.

(The best Dizzy I can be...)

Hey, D-BB, what are you on about?

If you want to cut off people's heads...thats your problem buddy.

The "buddy" reference wasn't intended as a friendly gesture - you're not that bright are you?

Anarchists don't live in caves, and don't behead people you dolt. Maybe if you read more, and talked less, you'd be a little smarter, and less racist.

Thats expecting too much though, isn't it? (Thats a rhetorical question by the way...I'll wait while you get your dictionary....OK, got it now? Good)

How's your literacy there kid? My blog post that was featured here was about the US and Russia.

As for the rest of your drivel, it's the same old xenophobic, racist stereotyping road-apple pie the neo-con pundits dish out, and ignorant people like you devour, thinking it's oh-so-delicious.

No matter how much whipped cream you put on it, they're still serving up bullshit.

Hope you have a breath mint!

The covered face symbolizes a couple of things.

As an Anarchist it represents the repression of Ego, or Identity, thus making a single, collaborative unit or collective. It is meant to symbolize the cooperative nature of an Anarchist collective, by not having any one individual stick out as a "head" or being in control.

On a socio-political level it also represents a faceless, voiceless (thus powerless) citizenship. A physical representation of how many of us feel about our government at the moment. Sure, we still have our freedom of speech (for now) but we are screaming from the rafters to no avail, for all the good it's doing us. Our representatives aren't listening, and don't care.

On a practical note, covering one's face during a rally helps protect you from pepper and chemical spray - as well as the new practice of photographing protesters for harassment and arrest at future protests.

(You can see a video of that new tactic in action on my blog - called "This is what a police state looks like" I put it up in January - you can also find, in my very first blog post, a deeper explanation of the loss of identity.)

I don't know if you're asking out of sheer curiosity, or I've just managed to wear you down - but hey, thanks for actually asking anyway.

Oh my, did drive by get cut off? One of the many moderators here must have taken to him. So sorry about that, I think......

No, it was for the best. Some people need to be in a cage.
