I came across something that really rattled me yesterday. With the power that bloggers display now, and how we take the powers that be to task, is it any wonder that some would wish to weaken that power? Some lawmakers would love to see bloggers restricted on what they can do and say because we are the citizen media, and we report what the MSM refuses to bring to light. The republicans can always count on FAUX NEWS to send the message that the war in Iraq is making progress. They can sit in their glass houses, knowing that what is real and what reported gets slanted to only have the right wing view thrown at us with the Rovian spin. The old "Liberal Bias" meme goes on and on.
That being said, I have to ask one thing. What happens when our own Louisiana knuckleheads wish to dare take our freedoms and make a mockery of them? That day has reared its ugly head, and I can only hope that they would dare to try it! I have many national contacts, and the bloggers across the nation would be in full force with a backlash. After everything inflicted upon our people here, it is insane to think that the Ethics morons would dare to try to cross that line. During post Katrina era, most people across the nation did not know what was really going on here. They had to rely on people like me and others to relay the truth.
So here we are a year later, and the nonsense shows no end. Politics as usual. The "I can't believe they want to have transparency in the government" rhetoric now hits home. I for one will not stand idle and take this lightly! I will continue to fight for what is right. I am a Former Marine, and I took an oath that I believe in till this day.
This is where I picked up on the story, and if you follow the links, it might get you fighting mad. While this might not be an attempt to regulate the blogs per se, it comes down to an attempt to regulate political ads on those blogs. Now Like TU, my blog is privately owned and operated. So what makes someone think they can tell me if and where I can place adds if I choose to do so?
You're not the boss of me
This is not how I see my country, and this will not be taken lightly. I am not only tired of the republican rhetoric, but I am tired of the locals acting like kids in a sand box. So help me, if you people keep this up, I will not only run a campaign against you, But I will Run against you soon in a campaign!! If I have to campaign and run against you, I will do it!! If the parish council wishes to fight and bicker, then just let me know, I would be happy to bring a pair of gloves and watch you beat each other to a pulp. At least then, you will have stood for something!! Get your act together, because I have had enough!
